Licensing Your Cat
The new responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw requires all cats to be licensed. Licensing enables animal shelters to quickly return lost cats to their owners, minimizing the stress on the cats, the families and the City’s animal shelters.
All licensed cats will be issued tags but will not be required to wear them if they already have a tattoo or a microchip.
A one year cat license will cost $30.00 for an unaltered cat, $10.00 for a spayed or neutered cat or $15.00 for a kitten age three to six months.
You will be able to license your cat at the Animal Services Centre.
